Our Finished Product Shots may look super polished, but it takes a great deal of hard work to get them looking that way. With the launch of our brand new Decem Shower Enclosure range currently taking place, we have recently completed a massive week long photo-shoot, to enable us to create the stunning new brochure. What a perfect opportunity to take you behind the scenes, so you can see just what goes in to creating these pictures…
Designing the Sets…
It all begins away from the photography studio and in the Marketing Department. Our Head of Graphics designs all the sets. She uses magazines for inspiration and creates moodboards with a mix of the latest interior design trends and some classic bathrooms.

From these moodboards she develops a series of concept sets, with one for each product in the range.

Building the Sets…
Once the concepts have been signed off, our in-house joinery team get to work building the sets in their unit, which is spacious enough to act as a studio for us. They will build the ‘bathroom walls’…

Because for this shoot we were photographing a full range and time and space would not allow us to build 10 different sets, we decided to build some moveable walls. These could be moved on and off the sets to create different shapes, sizes and colour themes, to show the products in different settings…

Adding the Products…
Once joinery had completed the sets, it was time for the Commercial Team to come in and build the products. With it being a totally new range of enclosures, they were the experts on making sure the products were built correctly, at this early stage (as the installation manuals had not yet been produced)…

Once the products are in place, it is then our turn in marketing to make them photo ready. This involves a lot of cleaning and propping. Once all cleaned up, the photographer can then light the set…

When we’re doing a big shoot like this, we also like to take the opportunity to stock up on our lifestyle photos. These are useful for Posters, POS and for our website…
Finished Shot…
The photographer then sends all the finished photographs through. Our Head of Graphics then gets to work tidying these up. This can be anything from changing the wall colour, to tidying up the grouting, to make the shot look brochure perfect…
