Roman to the Rescue

Roman has once again been approached by big name home rescue show Cowboy Builders, to help transform the bathroom and homes of two families in need. Having regularly worked with this programme, the producers and designers have fast become familiar with our products, they know how are easy to install, that they offer a stylish finish and they will last in the homes for many years to come.

We have helped out transforming two homes for Cowboy Builders. One of them aired last week, with another due to go out early next year.

If you saw last week’s episode you will have seen that we helped transform the bathroom, of the Milton Keynes based family, into a designer style, easy access wetroom. The family had hired and paid a builder to renovate their home and create a downstairs bathroom with disabled access, which would be accessible for the mum – who suffers with a degenerative form of spinal arthritis. Part way through the project the builder walked off with the family’s money and left the home in an unfinished mess. This left the family with nowhere to wash themselves, with the only running tap being the one in the kitchen.

As part of the show, the camera crew went into one of our retailers to collect the Roman products and do some filming. Our Regional Manager David Acheson joined the crew and managed to get some pictures with presenter Melinda Messenger.

The Bathroom

The easy access, designer style wetroom was created using the following Roman products:

Roman Shield Complete Wetroom Kit

This kit is designed to make installing a wetroom easy. The family had been left with a totally unusable wetroom. Had the bathroom gone on to be completed, the water would have actually flowed away from the waste – flooding the bathroom. With our Roman Shield Wetroom Kit the Pre-formed Shower Floor, which is included in the kit, is designed to sit underneath the tanking and tiles. This creates the fall towards the waste, ensuring the water runs out of the showering area easily, in the right direction. The kit also includes all your tanking materials to waterproof the showering area.

Sculptures Corner Panel

Our Sculptures Corner Panel adds a real designer finish to the wetroom. It features 10mm thick glass with minimal framing. As with all Roman enclosures and bath screens, it includes pre-coated glass protections, for easy cleaning. It is also back by a 10 year guarantee.
